Where the Wild Things Are
Dear Yuletide Writer

Thank you so much for offering to write in one of my fandoms and I’m really looking forward to reading whatever story you write. This is my first Yuletide and I’m so excited. As you can see I have requested three book fandoms, the first is a single book, the second two books and the third is a series of, let me see, 18 books now. I will be incredibly happy with whatever story you are inspired to write about these fandoms and characters, but here are my prompts and some additional information in case that helps.

I submitted my PhD thesis two weeks ago and then spent all of last week at a conference. I've had my little holiday of doing nothing in particular. Now I've got to the point where I need to do stuff - and I'm not entirely sure where to start the rest of my life.

Recently I'd been pondering what to do with this account. I'm currently using it as a back-up for my livejournal (all the LJ posts are private) but I don't really want to cross post as pretty much everyone in my circle here is also on my LJ friends list.

Then, to my enormous surprise I wrote and more importantly finished a piece of fanfic. I've fallen head over heels for the Star Trek Reboot and it is making me do all these crazy things. I don't really want to post it publicly on LJ at the moment for various reasons, so I'll be putting it here. Now all I have to do is work out a decent summary.

Personal things, recs and icon posts will continue at livejournal and I still consider that to be my main journal.

I'm really getting into this icon making thing. I've joined a couple of icon making contests which has been really fun. Most of the Being Human icons were made for [livejournal.com profile] beinghumanstill. I've just entered the first contest at [livejournal.com profile] trek_challenge which looks as if it is going to be...uh...challenging.

This is my first every batch of icons. The theme is female characters from all four seasons of Supernatural. If the character appeared in more than one episode they are here (with bonus Missouri just cos she's awesome). I had an absolute ball making them.

The icons are over at my LJ

Welcome to my journal. My name is silveronthetree and I'm a postgrad student in the process of writing my PhD thesis in palaeontology. I like discussing books, films, tv shows, rock climbing and crafts and I'm much shyer on the internet than in real life. At the moment I am re-reading the works of L.M. Montgomery, watching Supernatural and learning how to make icons instead of writing my PhD thesis.
